Students Attend Advocacy Day
Immaculata University students participated in this year’s Student Aid Advocacy Day on Tuesday, April 12 at the Capitol in Harrisburg, PA.
Each year a day is scheduled for students and faculty to lobby for legislative support for private institutions of higher education. This event helps remind legislators that their constituents attend private colleges and universities and is also a great learning experience for the students who attend. This year’s advocacy day primarily focuses on fully funding PHEAA grant programs and growing the Ready to Succeed Scholarship program so that more middle-income students can benefit from the financial help it provides.
Immaculata Students Who Attended:
• Leah Briner ’17 of Harrisburg, PA
• Courtney Jones ’19 of King of Prussia, PA
• Gladys Jones – continuing education student from Frazer, PA
• Elizabeth McBride ’16 of Philadelphia, PA 19136
• Molly Truitt ’17 of West Chester, PA
