Stephen Apanel Appointed Assistant Director of Housing at Immaculata University

Mr. Stephen J. Apanel, formerly of Jersey City, New Jersey, has been appointed to serve as assistant director of Residence Life and Student Development for Housing at Immaculata University.
Mr. Apanel has an extensive career in the enhancement of residence life at local universities. Prior to serving at Immaculata, he was the assistant director of Residence Life as Saint Peter´s College in New Jersey, where he helped to facilitate the development of the college´s residential community. He was also the Residential Life coordinator for Bucknell University and the Graduate coordinator for Desk Services for Carnegie Mellon University.
Mr. Apanel received his B.S. in Architectural Studies with a minor in Human Resource Management from Philadelphia University. He went on to receive his Master of Student Affairs in Higher Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He is a member of several professional organizations, including the American College Personnel Association, and the Association of College and University Housing Officers-International.
Over his career, Mr. Apanel has made several presentations to different groups. A few of the presentations were entitled Real Men Only (an orientation presentation), Journey to New Heights: Sustaining and Expanding Learning Communities (Mid-Atlantic College and University Housing Officers), and RHA and Advising Student Leadership at Bucknell University.
As assistant director at Immaculata, his position focuses on assisting with housing assignments, advising the Residence Council, overseeing resident assistants, residence life, and creating leadership opportunities for students.
Upon being named assistant director of housing, Mr. Apanel commented that, "I am happy and proud to be a part of the Immaculata Community and look forward to participating in its continuing growth."
Immaculata University, a Catholic coeducational institution, is located 20 miles west of Philadelphia, south of the intersection of Routes 30 and 352, between Paoli and Exton.
