Sister R. Patricia Fadden, IHM, Ed.D., Named Businesswoman of the Year
Sister R. Patricia Fadden, IHM, Ed.D., president of Immaculata University, has been named Businesswoman of the Year by the Great Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce. Sister Patricia will be recognized at the 19th Annual Profile Awards Dinner on Monday, March 16, at the Desmond Great Valley Hotel and Conference Center.
Sister Patricia, a native of Canonsburg, PA, is the ninth president of Immaculata University. She is in the second term of her presidency.
During her tenure at Immaculata University, Sister Pat helped orchestrate the decision for the University to become coeducational. Student enrollment for both the graduate and undergraduate colleges has increased dramatically under Sister Pat´s leadership. Growth has spurred the necessity for additional faculty and staff as well as securing additional off-campus educational sites and adding academic programs to accommodate students. In addition, she has overseen the renovations of many campus facilities and the construction of the new Draper Walsh Stadium.
Demonstrating her business skills, Sister Pat has been asked to serve as chair for the Southeastern Pennsylvania Consortium for Higher Education (SEPCHE) Presidents´ Council, chair and member of the board of directors for the NCAA Colonial States Athletic Conference, member of the presidents´ council and board of directors for the Association of Independent Colleges and Universities of Pennsylvania, board of trustees for the Gesu School, as well as serving on the board of education and the high school planning committee for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.
The Great Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce selects the Profile Award recipients for their unique professional performance and substantial contributions to business â€“ locally, nationally, and internationally.
"It is an honor to be selected by the Chamber for this recognition and I am grateful for this opportunity to showcase Immaculata," commented Sister Pat upon the announcement of the Award.
Immaculata University, a Catholic, coeducational institution is located 20 miles west of Philadelphia, south of the intersection of routes 30 and 352, between Paoli and Exton.
