Research by Immaculata University students was on display on Thursday, April 10, on the campus of Immaculata University as part of the Posters under the Dome event.

Approximately 70 Immaculata students, at both the graduate and undergraduate levels, showcased their latest research during the annual event.  Many faculty advisors were available to answer questions along with the students.

Academic research at Immaculata University benefits students professionally, personally, and educationally.  “Students grow as critical, analytical, and independent thinkers,” commented Sister Susan Cronin, IHM, Ph.D., professor of Biology and director of the Office of Sponsored Research at Immaculata. “In addition, students also learn how to complete a project while discovering personal interests.”

Senior Christian Scalo’s project “Controlling the Carolina Biological Microbial Fuel Cell Laboratory Exercise” is one example of a student’s research project that will be on display.  Academic departments represented in this year’s display include Nursing, Biology, Education, Psychology, Exercise Science, Fashion Merchandising, and Nutrition, to name a few.

Immaculata University is a Catholic, comprehensive, coeducational institution of higher education, located on the Main Line between Malvern and Exton, 20 miles west of Philadelphia.
