Philadelphia Resident Selected for IU Presidential Scholarship
Immaculata University is pleased to announce that incoming freshman Jared Viz of Philadelphia, PA (19111), has been awarded the Presidential Scholarship, a full tuition scholarship worth $33,280 per year, to attend Immaculata.
As an Allied Health major with a concentration in Radiological Sciences, Viz hopes to eventually become a radiologist assistant and work in a hospital, primarily with kids.
The Presidential Scholarship is awarded to a select number of students with a record of academic excellence. Students are evaluated on the bases of GPA (students must maintain a 3.25 GPA), class rigor, standardized test scores, class rank, and recommendations. There are three recipients of the Presidential Scholarship this year.
Viz attended Central High School in Philadelphia where he was an engaged student serving as student body president; assistant director of choir; summer orientation leader; a member of the National Honor Society; and president of PACIFIC, a Filipino club. He was also a cast member for three musical productions.
“I am extremely grateful to be a recipient of this prestigious scholarship and would like to wholeheartedly thank Immaculata University for granting me with this very generous award,” stated Viz.
Immaculata University is a comprehensive, Catholic, coeducational institution of higher education, located on the Main Line between Malvern and Exton, 20 miles west of Philadelphia.
