Philadelphia Resident Michael Ziccardi Receives 2010 Amethyst Award from Immaculata University

The Alumni Association of Immaculata University honored Philadelphia (19149), resident Michael V. Ziccardi ´04, ´08M, with its prestigious Amethyst Award during Reunion Weekend held recently. The Amethyst Award is given annually to a graduate of the University in recognition of his/her outstanding contribution to or achievement in a church, community, or professional activity.
As the benefactor of a Catholic education for twelve years, and as well as earning both his bachelor´s and master´s degrees from Immaculata University, Michael can attest to the exceptional value that Catholic education provides. He is a parishioner of Our Lady of Ransom Roman Catholic Church in Philadelphia Pa, and serves the parish as chair of the Parish Finance Council, member of the Parish Pastoral Council, lector, and usher. Michael graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Immaculata University in 2004, and went on to receive a Master of Arts in 2008. Continuing his connections to Immaculata University, he is a member of the Alumni Board of Governors and the Graduate Student Advisory Board, and volunteers for the Alumni Fund Telethon.
As an active member of the Order Sons of Italy in America at both the local and state level, Michael has served that organization as financial secretary, co-director of Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania Benefit Insurance Fund, trustee in District 1, Grant Lodge of Pennsylvania, and President of Vince Lombardi/Judge Alessandroni Lodge. In addition, he is also a member of the Columbus Day Committee of Philadelphia.
Michael is a dedicated professional and is currently working as the leader of the Global Disaster Recovery team for Wyeth Pharmaceuticals (now Pfizer). He is also a member of the Association Contingency Planning (Liberty Valley Chapter); a member of Southeastern Pennsylvania Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD); a member of Chester County First; and a member of Imation Corporation End User Council.
Immaculata University, a Catholic coeducational institution, is located 20 miles west of Philadelphia, south of the intersection of routes 30 and 352, between Paoli and Exton.
