Immaculata University, a Catholic, liberal arts institution, will inaugurate Sister R. Patricia Fadden, IHM, EdD, as its ninth president on Sunday, October 13, at 3:30 p.m. in Alumnae Hall Theater.
The events for the day include a Sunday Eucharist held in the chapel of Villa Maria House of Studies (adjacent to the university), at 1:00 p.m. The Inauguration begins at 3:30 p.m. in Alumnae Hall Theater on the university´s campus. A reception will immediately follow the ceremony.
Over 700 guests are expected to be in attendance including delegates from over 50 institutions of higher education. The Honorable Elinor Z. Taylor will give a greeting from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania during the inauguration. Three Immaculata University students will also offer greetings:

Chair of the Board of Trustees of Immaculata University, Sister Rose Marie DeCarol, IHM, will preside over the Transferral of the Insignia, a part of the Inauguration ceremony. The Most Reverend Michael F. Burbidge, an alumnus of Immaculata and rector of St. Charles Borromeo Seminary, will be the principal celebrant during the Celebration of the Eucharist, which will begin the day´s events. Fifteen priests will concelebrate the Eucharist.
Although Sister Patricia is the ninth president of the institution, she will be the first president of the newly designated Immaculata University. Sister Patricia most recently served as principal of Villa Maria Academy in Malvern and also served on the Immaculata Board of Trustees from 1991 â€“ 2000. Born in Canonsburg, PA, she grew up in Havertown. After graduating from Villa Maria Academy, she joined the Congregation of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
Immaculata University is located 20 miles west of Philadelphia, south of the intersection of routes 30 and 352, between Paoli and Exton.
