Immaculata University announces the appointment of Stephen J. Pugliese as vice president of student affairs. He will be responsible for students in all three colleges of Immaculata: The Women´s College, the College of LifeLong Learning, and the College of Graduate Studies.
Regarding his appointment to Immaculata, he comments that, "I am excited about the opportunity of working with the students, faculty, and staff of Immaculata. It is an exciting time at Immaculata, since receiving university status. The administration, faculty, and staff, in particular the staff in the Student Affairs area, are very committed to mission and to fostering a place where students are able to learn and grow. I am happy to be a part of the IU team!"
Mr. Pugliese comes to Immaculata from Marywood University in Scranton, PA, where he served as dean of students and also as director of student activities and leadership development. During his career, he has been employed by other higher education institutions including King´s College as director of housing and residence life and Villanova University as coordinator for residence management and then as assistant to the dean of students for judicial affairs.
A Kutztown University graduate, with a degree in Speech Theater/Speech Communication, he obtained his Master of Science degree in Human Organization Science. He is a Ph.D. candidate in Human Development, Higher Education Administration at Marywood University. Mr. Pugliese has taught several public speaking courses throughout his career at both Marywood and Villanova universities as well as instructing the Freshman Year Experience course at King´s College and New Student Seminar course at Marywood.
As part of his commitment to his profession, Mr. Pugliese is a member of the American College Personnel Administration, the Association for Student Judicial Affairs, the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators, and the National Orientation Directors Association.
A native of Lancaster, PA, Mr. Pugliese now lives in King of Prussia, PA.
Immaculata University, a Catholic liberal arts institution, is located 20 miles west of Philadelphia, south of the intersection of routs 30 and 352, between Paoli and Exton.
