IU Welcomes Cristina Tansey to Nursing Faculty
Immaculata University announces that Cristina Tansey ’11, MSN, RNC, of Newtown Square, PA, has joined the faculty in the Division of Nursing where she will instruct students in the undergraduate pre-licensure Nursing program.
Most recently serving as Nursing Lab faculty for Immaculata, Tansey was also the assistant director of the Nursing Clinical Simulation Lab since August 2014. She started her nursing career as a staff nurse at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She has also been the staff nurse for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Riddle Memorial Hospital and spent 23 years in that same capacity at Delaware County Memorial Hospital.
Dedicated to her profession, Tansey retains membership in the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) and is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She has also earned many distinguished honors during her career including being named the recipient of the Independence Blue Cross Nurse Scholars Program in 2007 and receiving a Certificate of Excellence (2nd Place) for the Immaculata MSN Capstone Presentation in 2011.
Tansey graduated from Villanova University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and earned a Master of Science in Nursing from Immaculata University. Sharing her expertise, she presents on topics such as Ethics in Nursing Practice, The Use of Simulation for Patient Education, and Best Practice for Pediatric Asthma Management.
“I felt right at home as a student at Immaculata, and feel the same way as faculty here,” commented Tansey on her appointment at Immaculata University.
