IU Student Awarded “Philly’s Future” Scholarship
Immaculata University student Anne Marie DeCarolis ’17 of Nottingham, PA, was awarded the “Philly’s Future” Scholarship from the Philly Ad Club, a trade association of advertising, media, creative, marketing, and public relations professionals in the Greater Philadelphia area. DeCarolis, a marketing management and business management dual major, was one of seven students in the Philadelphia area selected for the scholarship in recognition and reward for her outstanding student achievements in the advertising and communication arena. The Philly’s Future Scholarship provides financial support with professional recognition and mentorship to outstanding students.
“Having been nominated for this scholarship by IU’s Business and Accounting Department, I am humbled by their belief and investment in me,” stated DeCarolis. “I look forward to continuing to develop and hone my skills in my coming years at Immaculata.”
As an active member of the Immaculata community, DeCarolis serves as chair of the 2015 New Student Orientation program; vice president of Immaculata’s Enactus team; founder and president of Avidium’s Immaculata chapter, a group who creates a positive environment for suicide and mental health challenges of youth; staff writer for the Immaculatan student newspaper and also a writing assistant for the University’s Writing Center. DeCarolis is also a First-Year Experience (FYE) Mentor, a student ambassador, and assistant to the chair of the Honors Program.
“Anne Marie is an outstanding writer and communicator who combines her creative capabilities with dynamic application in marketing projects, newspaper articles and her leadership roles,” stated Charlene Fitzwater, Ph.D., chair of the Business and Accounting Department at Immaculata University.
