IU Business Advisory Board Selects Scholarship Recipient
The Immaculata University Business Advisory Board of the Business and Accounting Department announces that Angela Alvarez ’18 of West Grove, PA is the recipient of the 2014 Business Advisory Board Scholarship worth $5,000.
As a Business Management/Marketing Management major, Alvarez is excited to pursue a career that motivates people since she enjoys working with the public. She also is interested in advocating for women’s rights.
“I am still in shock from receiving the award,” stated Alvarez. “It’s one of the coolest things that has ever happened to me.”
While attending Avon Grove High School, Alvarez was an active member of the Humanitarian Club and the Leo Club, a service club sponsored by the Avon Grove Lions Club.
“Angela demonstrated drive, energy, and a very positive approach. She provided a compelling application letter, engaging interview and effective articulation of her need for the scholarship,” stated Charlene Fitzwater, Ph.D., chair of the Business and Accounting Department.
The Immaculata Business Advisory Board consists of business professionals from surrounding communities; they provided the sole funding for this scholarship.
Immaculata University is a Catholic, comprehensive, coeducational institution of higher education, located on the Main Line between Malvern and Exton, 20 miles west of Philadelphia.
