IU at Philadelphia Collection’s Fashion Week
Christine Baeza, director of Immaculata University’s Fashion Merchandising program, will speak about the business of fashion on Tuesday, September 18, at Hotel Palomar during The Philadelphia Collection’s third annual Fashion Week. Baeza will be on a panel of fashion experts discussing the legal, financial, sourcing, marketing, branding and intellectual property aspects of managing a fashion business. Attendees will learn how business innovation, corporate-social responsibility and memorable marketing can help a new fashion company break into the industry or help an established company remain competitive.
Baeza has an extensive 20-year career in the fashion and textile industry. She worked for one of the largest sock manufacturers in the U.S. as the creative director, working with top companies such as Tommy Hilfiger, Hugo Boss, Adidas and Nordstrom. Recently she was the director of brand management for a sock company managing the Dockers and Nautica brands. She helped introduce sustainable production and products into the various lines she created for major brands such as Adidas and Tommy Hilfiger.
