Immaculata University’s Faculty Present Piano Recital

Two faculty members of Immaculata University´s Music Department will perform on piano on Friday, September 21, at 7:30 p.m. in Memorial Hall on the campus of Immaculata University. Performing will be Janet Ahlquist of Devon, PA and Stephen Campitelli of West Chester, PA. The pianists will end the program with a surprise piece for one piano/four hands.
As part of her recital, Ms. Ahlquist will perform Chopin´s 24 Preludes and 3 Preludes of George Gershwin. Throughout her career, she has played at such distinguished venues such as Lincoln Center, Carnegie Recital Hall, Boston´s Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, and the Library of Congress Coolidge Auditorium. Performing around the world, Ms. Ahlquist has given recitals in Switzerland, Russia, Norway, France, and Portugal.
The music of Bach/Busoni, Poulene, and Albeniz will be featured in concert by Mr. Campitelli. In demand as a concerto soloist, recitalist, and accompanist, he has regularly appeared with the Immaculata Symphony since 1997 as soloist, chamber musician, and resident pianist. In addition, he has served as rehearsal accompanist and concert organist for the Main Line Ecumenical Choir since 2000 and recently performed the Beethoven "Choral Fantasy" with the Main Line Symphony. Currently, Mr. Campitelli is the organist at the West Chester United Methodist Church. In addition to his teaching position at Immaculata, he also teaches at the Suburban Music School and maintains a private studio.
Immaculata University, a Catholic coeducational institution, is located 20 miles west of Philadelphia, south of the intersection of routes 30 and 352, between Paoli and Exton.
