Immaculata University’s Cue and Curtain Players Perform “Once Upon A Mattress” for Fall Production
Immaculata University´s Cue and Curtain Players presents Once Upon A Mattress as their Fall production from November 18-21. Once Upon A Mattress is a musical by Mary Rodgers, lyrics by Marshall Barer and is based on the book by Jay Thompson, Dean Fuller, and Marshall Barer. The Cue and Curtain Players, all Immaculata University students, performs under the direction of Sister Marcille McEntee, IHM.
Based on the fairy tale of the Princess and the Pea, the story centers around Prince Dauntless the Drab and his mother, Queen Agravain, who forbids her son from marrying anyone but a true princess. When Princess Winnifred arrives to contend for a chance to wed the Prince, Queen Agravain manipulates an impossible test so that she will fail. However, Winnifred immediately attracts Prince Dauntless and then the games begin!
Performances are Thursday, November 18, Friday, November 19, and Saturday, November 20, at 8 p.m. with a Matinee at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 21.
