Immaculata University Professor Presents A Master Class
Dr. William Carr, a resident of Malvern, PA., and a Steinway Artist/Professor of Music at Immaculata University, will present a master class on Saturday, March 6, 2010, at Jacobs Music of Philadelphia.
The program will include student performances of Dennis Alexander´s Rapsodia Espanola, Frederic Chopin´s Fantasie Impromptu C# Minor, and Franz Liszt´s Paganini Etude No. 6 in A Minor. The students Dr. Carr will critique include: Clair Wu (student of Elvira Kipnis), May Yuan (student of Bing Santacruz), and Gregory Di Bona (student of Veronica Tapsonyi).
Dr. Carr received degrees in piano performance from Temple University. He continued his studies under the world renowned Adele Marcus at the Julliard School in the Graduate Professional Studies Program. He received his Doctoral of Musical Arts Degree in piano performance from The Catholic University of America. He earned post-doctoral performance certificates from the Munich Conservatory in Chamber Music and from the Listzt Weimer Conservatory through studies with concert pianist Paul Badura-Skoda in Germany and Austria. Dr. Carr also holds a master´s degree in International Relations/International Business from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He was the first recipient of the Lindback Distinguished Teaching Award at Immaculata University.
