Immaculata University Names Rebecca Powers of Reading, PA, Director of Corporate, Foundation, and Government Relations
Reading, PA, resident Rebecca Powers joined the staff of University Advancement Department at Immaculata University as the director of Corporate, Foundation, and Government Relations. In this position, Rebecca will research and write grants, secure corporate relationships for the University, serve as liaison regarding government issues, and oversee the President´s Council.
As development director for the Southeast Asian Mutual Assistance Associations Coalition, Rebecca developed, executed and managed fundraising and marketing plans in addition to other related duties. Prior to that position, she spent two years in the development office for the Jacob A. Riis Neighborhood Settlement House, Inc, in Long Island City, NY. While at Riis Settlement, Rebecca proved to be instrumental in nearly doubling the agency´s operating budget and expanding its development department.
Graduating cum laude from Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Classics and Ancient Mediterranean Studies, she continued her education earning a Master of Science in Social Anthropology from the University of Oxford. Rebecca also successfully completed Columbia Business School´s Institute for Non-Profit Management´s Middle Management Program. To keep current in her field, she is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and is also a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
