Immaculata University Hosts “Steinway & Sons Comes to Immaculata”

Immaculata University presents "Steinway & Sons Comes to Immaculata University," a three-day event from June 12-14 on the campus of Immaculata University in Chester County. The event is sponsored by Jacobs Music Company. A large collection of Steinway Pianos will be on public display and for sale in Villa Maria Hall. A charity perform-a-thon and faculty concert followed by a reception, round out the weekend events.
From Thursday, June 11 through Saturday, June 13, music directors and their students will participate in the Children Helping Children Perform-a-thon supporting the Hope for Henry Foundation. All proceeds benefit the Hope for Henry Foundation which provides children with life-threatening illnesses and their families, who are living at the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald Houses, a chance to have a special birthday celebration.
Roger Williams´ Gold Piano will be the featured piano and will be displayed in the Rotunda of Villa Maria Hall for teachers, students, and their families to enjoy and play. In addition, a Steinway concert grand (7´) will be performed on by the students in Memorial Hall for the perform-a-thon. This piano has been played by pianist such as Andre Watts, Lang Lang, and Diana Krall.
On Friday, June 12, at 7:00 p.m., the Immaculata University music faculty — Delores Ferraro, Janet Ahlquist, David Wetherill, Stephen Campitelli, Christine De Vault, and William Carr — will perform a concert of classical music featuring the works of Toch, Strauss, Gershwin, Chopin, Liszt and others. A reception will follow the performance. There is no admission fee for the concert; however, a Hope for Henry donation is appreciated.
