Immaculata University Hosts First Annual Spirituality Day

Immaculata University´s Spirituality Under the Dome series announces its first annual "Spirituality Day" on Saturday, March 17, from 8:30 a.m. to approximately 3:30 p.m.
The day will begin with a welcome and opening prayer. Father Richard N. Fragomeni, S.T.B., Ph.D., a priest of the Diocese of Albany, NY, will be the keynote speaker. The keynote address, "Telling the Story of God – Awakening to the Story of Ourselves: The Unfolding Mystery of Christian Life," will be followed by ten speakers available for two sessions of smaller group gatherings. Lunch is provided on campus for participants. After the group sessions, a solo performance of Saint Catherine of Siena will be performed by Sister Nancy Murray, O.P. Guests may register only for the play if they wish.
Traveling to five continents since 2000, Sister Nancy, a Dominican nun from Illinois, has given more than 350 performances of her one-woman show portraying Catherine Benoncasa, the 13th Century woman better known as Saint Catherine of Siena. Sister Nancy taught drama, dance, and theology for 13 years at her alma mater, Siena Heights University in Illinois.
Sister Mary Henrich, IHM, program director for Immaculata´s Spirituality Under the Dome, comments that, "The day will offer an opportunity for all interested seekers to give attention to the deeper yearnings of your heart during this Lenten season."
Costs for participants enrolling in the full-day sessions, including the play, are $30.00 (must pre-register); the cost for attending the play only is $10 for adults and $5 for students (tickets available at the door). For more information, contact 610-647-4400, ext. 3434.
The Spirituality Under the Dome series seeks to provide space for prayer, presenters and performers as a way of nourishing and supporting people´s expressed desire to live in meaningful relationship with God and neighbor.
Immaculata University, a Catholic, coeducational institution, is located 20 miles west of Philadelphia, south of the intersection of routes 30 and 352, between Paoli and Exton.
