Immaculata University Fashion Show
Students in Immaculata University’s Fashion Merchandising program is sponsoring a fashion show, Picture Perfect Prom: A Sky Full of Stars on Saturday, March 17, at 6 p.m. The fashion show is a fundraiser to support high school girls who cannot afford to buy a prom dress. The evening features hors d ’Oeuvres, vendors, hair/makeup tutorials by Darci Henry Beauty, and raffle prizes. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at: iupromfashionshow.eventbrite.com.
David’s Bridal and Jude Connally are donating prom dresses to be given away to the high school students; Eagle Formal Wear and David’s Bridal are lending prom dresses to be worn for the fashion show. In addition, guests will have the opportunity to see fashion designs created by Immaculata’s Fashion Merchandising majors which will be judged by industry experts including:
- Emil DeJohn: legendary fashion designer and former professor at the Art Institute of Philadelphia
- Darci Henry: founder of Darci Henry Beauty
- Stephanie Buthusiem: executive assistant for David’s Bridal and previous fashion buyer
- Maureen DeSimone: current faculty member at Immaculata and Drexel universities and fashion industry expert
“As a college student, I know how stressful getting ready for prom can be,” states Jamie Jablonski ‘18, president of the Immaculata Fashion Club. “I am so happy that we can help local high school students have a fun evening, view this year’s prom styles and donate several dresses to needy students so they can have a ‘picture perfect prom.’”
Immaculata University is a Catholic, coeducational institution of higher learning, located on the Main Line between Malvern and Exton, 20 miles west of Philadelphia.
