Immaculata University is hosting its own Festival of Families for students, faculty, and alumni on Saturday, September 26, from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m. on the campus of Immaculata. In addition, the Papal Mass on Sunday, September 27, will be streamed live on campus beginning at 3:30 p.m. in Loyola Hall.
One of the main attractions of the Immaculata celebration will be the live streaming of Pope Francis’ visit to the Festival of Families in Philadelphia on that Saturday. The Festival of Families is an international celebration of family, community, and faith. Musical performances by Andrea Bocelli, Latin pop star Juanes, Aretha Franklin, and the Philadelphia Orchestra will also be streamed live at Immaculata. A special screening of The Mighty Macs, one of the films chosen to be shown during the World Meeting of Families’ week-long film festival, will be held on campus. Families can choose from a variety of indoor and outdoor games and an assortment of food offerings. Mighty Mac fans can cheer on their team as the men’s and women’s soccer teams compete at home and the women’s field hockey and tennis teams also play at home. View athletic schedules.
A Blessing of Families will be performed by Immaculata’s Chaplain Father Samuel Verruni who will also conduct a Vigil Mass for those in attendance.
