Immaculata Names New Men’s Basketball Coach

Ardmore resident James Chadwin has been chosen as the first head men´s basketball coach at Immaculata University. The first priority of Coach Chadwin is the recruitment of male student-athletes as Immaculata anticipates the enrollment of its first coeducational class in the traditional undergraduate college for fall 2005.
Coach Chadwin comes to Immaculata from Gwynedd-Mercy College where he was the assistant men´s basketball coach since the 2002 season. At Gwynned-Mercy, he helped take the program to a PAC title and the school´s first ever appearance in the NCAA tournament in the history of the men´s basketball program. Prior to coaching at Gwynedd-Mercy, Coach Chadwin served as administrative assistant basketball coach at the University of Delaware. His involvement with coaching camps and clubs include Pine Forest Camp, the Sixers Basketball Camp, Philadelphia Maccabi, David Henderson Basketball Camp, Notre Dame University Basketball Camp, and The Hoop Group: Eastern Invitational. Coach Chadwin graduated from the University of Delaware with a B.S. in Health and Physical Education in 2002.
As head men´s basketball coach, Coach Chadwin will oversee the daily operations of the men´s basketball program which includes on-court coaching during games and practices; coordinating scouting and recruitment; developing players; assisting in fundraising; and arranging for team travel.

Immaculata University is a Division III member of the NCAA and belongs to the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC). Other male varsity sports teams that will begin in the 2005-2006 academic year include soccer, golf, and tennis.
Immaculata University, a Catholic comprehensive liberal arts institution, is located 20 miles west of Philadelphia, south of the intersection of routes 30 and 352, between Paoli and Exton.
