Harrisburg Event Featuring Important Safety Tips for Families Sponsored by Immaculata University
On Wednesday, July 30, from 5-7:30 p.m., Immaculata University is holding a Bar-B-Q&A at the Dixon University Center, located at 2986 North Second Street in Harrisburg. Participants can enjoy a complimentary barbecue dinner and receive important safety tips from local officials that can help protect families. To register for the event, please visit www.iuepm-bbq.eventbrite.com
The Dixon University Center is one of two sites that offers Immaculata’s Emergency Planning and Management (EMP) program. EPM professionals plan and direct disaster response or crisis management activities, provide disaster preparedness training, and prepare emergency plans and procedures for natural and man-made disasters. Hiring in this field is expected to grow 5-8% by 2020. Immaculata’s EPM bachelor degree-completion program offers the only major in EPM in this region and is recognized by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
Students enrolled in the EPM program take courses through an accelerated delivery format that allows them to design custom schedules that consist of both classroom and online courses. Courses are completed in seven-or eight-week terms. Fall classes begin Monday, August 25.
