Dr. William Carr Performs with the Ocean City Pops Orchestra
Dr. William Carr, a resident of Malvern, PA, and Steinway Artist/ Professor of Music at Immaculata University, will perform the Rhapsody in Blue with the Ocean City (NJ) Pops Orchestra as piano soloist. The piano recital will be held on Sunday, September 2, at 7:30 p.m. in the Hughes Auditorium of Ocean City High School as part of an all-Gershwin program for Labor Day weekend.
Dr. Carr received degrees in piano performance from Temple University. He continued his studies under the world renowned Adele Marcus at the Julliard School in the Graduate Professional Studies Program. He received his Doctor of Musical Arts Degree in piano performance from The Catholic University of America. He earned post-doctoral performance certificates from the Munich Conservatory in Chamber Music and from the Liszt Weimar Conservatory through studies with concert pianist Paul Badura-Skoda in Germany and Austria. Dr. Carr also holds a Master´s Degree in International Relations/International Business from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He was the first recipient of the Lindback Distinguished Teaching Award at Immaculata University.
Immaculata University, a Catholic, coeducational institution, is located 20 miles west of Philadelphia, south of the intersection of routes 30 and 352, between Paoli and Exton.
