Workshop Invites Community to Drum for Peace

The College of Graduate Studies at Immaculata University will offer a two-day workshop entitled Circles of Healing: Drumming for Universal Peace, on Saturday, November 6, and Sunday, November 7, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in Memorial Hall on the university´s campus. Dr. Noah Thorpe, Ed.D., CMT, will instruct this class.
In these days, many in our country have called for peace, unity, and prayer. Drumming in unity, despite diversity, builds strength and comfort. Release and a sense of community through this musical experience of world music, group process, and ritual is the focus for this Circle.
Introduced during the inception of the graduate certificate in expressive arts, the Circles of Healing series presents initiative for study, experiential work, and practice in music, visual arts, dance, movement, and drama.
Cost for the course if taken at the graduate level is $440 and $320 if taken at the undergraduate level. It is also offered as a non-credit workshop for $160. For more information contact the College of Graduate Studies at 610-647-4400, ext. 3211.
Immaculata University, a Catholic, coeducational institution, is located 20 miles west of Philadelphia, south of the intersection of routes 30 and 352, between Paoli and Exton.
