“Best of Broadway” Concert
Immaculata University’s Cue and Curtain Players and the IU Dance Company performed “Best of Broadway” on Friday, November 22 in Alumnae Hall Theater.
The concert, which was produced entirely by Immaculata students, was a revue of various songs from Broadway shows featuring a live student orchestra with solos, duets, and full cast performances. The IU Dance Company joined the Cue and Curtain players for the opening and closing songs, in addition to performing a routine of their own.
The Cue and Curtain Players present two plays a year, one during the fall semester and a children’s play during the spring semester. This semester, the scheduled play was postponed and the students wanted to perform something during the scheduled weekend.
“Our hope is that this concert will inspire more students to get involved with the group in the various capacities of stage crew, orchestra, and actors,” stated Cameron Stringham ’14, member of Cue and Curtain Players.
Proceeds from donations benefited cancer research.
Immaculata University is a Catholic, comprehensive, coeducational institution of higher education, located on the Main Line between Malvern and Exton, 20 miles west of Philadelphia.
