 Immaculata University recently honored alumna Dianne Majer Mundy ’64 of Levittown, NY.  Mundy received the Alumni Medal which is presented in recognition of outstanding volunteer service and support to Immaculata University.

For 30 years, Mundy served in the Nassau County Probation Department, promoting social justice and ending familial and animal abuse. She investigated situations and filed court reports; supervised families in the child abuse, neglect and custody unit. During the Vietnam era, she volunteered to do adoption home studies for Holt Agency expediting Eurasian infant/children entry into the United States.Following retirement in 1995, Mundy became a member of RENEW, a retiree’s group affiliated with St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church in New York City.  She served on the board for more than four years and planned and participated in the groups many spiritual, social, advocacy, educational and recreational activities.

Mundy is active in Immaculata’s Alumni Association.  She has planned and promoted alumni events, participated in the telethon, and supported Immaculata financially.  She served two terms on the Alumni Board of Governors and was second vice president for three terms.  She has hosted several alumni gatherings, encouraging her fellow alumni to stay connected with Immaculata.

The Medal was given to Mundy at the inaugural Alumni Gala hosted by Sister R. Patricia Fadden, IHM, Ed.D., president of Immaculata University.  During the Gala, the Amethyst Award was also presented to Margaret Monahan Hogan ’63 of Harding, PA.  Over 150 guests attended the event and honored Mundy, Hogan and previous recipients of both the Alumni Medal and the Amethyst Award.

Immaculata University is a comprehensive, Catholic, coeducational institution of higher education, located on the Main Line between Malvern and Exton, 20 miles west of Philadelphia.
